*Introduction
By the joint research of Professor F. Marota, from Biotechnology and traditional medicine WHO center of Milan University (Italy), Harada Hospital (Japan), SFJO Institution (Paris, France) and Age Management Fund (Pavia, Italy), it is confirmed that MMT can improve the symptoms of the old experimental model mice with flu.
Research results are reported in the magazine “Analysis of the New York Academy of Sciences”, 408-413 (2006) by the New York Academy of Sciences. This magazine is the second globally authoritative academic one that has been quoted by other thesis since its starting publication in 1823 during 28 years.
Summary of the research
20-month old Swiss mice were separated into 3groups: (A) comparison group, (B) infection group (C) infection but given 5mg of MMT group. Mice were infected by the viruses through the nose. Treated by MMT, the nasal symptoms of the virus infection and febrile reaction were significantly reduced. Also, the amount of virus in the lungs significantly decreased, but the one in the nose did not. However, the inflammatory infiltration of the nose observably decreased. MMT has feasibility in the aged animals’ clinical application and also the safety as the strongpoint.
*In addition, take MMT 30g/kg (weight) daily most (i.e. give the mice infected with the flu virus more than 50 times of the necessary amount). The medicine didn’t associate with the toxicity.
It is heard that when aged patients a taking more than one drug, they will run into immunodeficiency and have high risk of virus infection as well. When taken MMT, the phenomenon are partially or completely suppressed. Although the detailed MMT component about the mechanism is not clear, the properties of the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant exist. The above experiment suggests that the safe and natural substance MMT has the feasibility of the clinical application. In order to understand the detailed mechanism, further research will continue to be held.
