Chapter 1-4:NASH is also cause of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, and shouldn’t be ignored

hepatitis C   fatty liver   liver disease   liver cirrhosis   NASH liver
If symptom of fatty liver (up to 30% of liver cells become fat) continues to develop, the liver cell will get inflammation and leads to fibrosis and liver cirrhosis. So fatty liver is also a kind of liver disease shouldn’t be ignored.

In US, the number of patients suffered NASH is about 2-3% of total population. Most of them are female aged at about 50. The causes of disease are obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia etc. The research in Japan also shows that, the patients are mostly women aged at 50 to 60, and the male patients are mostly aged at 20 to 30. There are also cases of 10 years old girl suffered NASH and 16 years old boy had liver cirrhosis developed from NASH. In the previous medical common sense, fatty liver can not develop into hepatitis or liver cirrhosis without excessive drinking or virus infection. So now we need to re-examine the harm of NASH. The patients of habitual disease, such as disordered diets (overeat or monophagia), obesity caused by lack of physical practice, diabetes and hyperlipidemia have become younger and younger.

Although NASH got more and more attention from people, the effective treatment is still not found. There is no treatment which can block the fibrosis of NASH liver cell. The overuse of medicine can also leads to drug-induced liver disease. We expect that, the number of NASH patients will face a explosive growth in future, as more and more young people having a disordered life.
